Minnesota, here we come!

So, we heard a polar vortex is returning to North America this week.  And, of course, we are planning a tour to Minnesota.  BUT, nothing can stop the Nightingale Trio!

We are eager and excited looking forward to our performance on "A Prairie Home Companion" this Saturday, but we can't forget also the other lovely live performances we will be giving in the Twin Cities while we are there.

On Friday, January 24th, we will be playing at the Verdant Tea Tasting Room, which promises to be a delicious spot to spend a Friday evening.  They have tea flights!

Also, on Sunday, January 26th, we will be sharing our music with the services at Central Lutheran Church in downtown Minneapolis.  This is a beautiful church where many of the best choirs in the country (and the world?) have sung, and where many of the choral leaders of Minneapolis attend services.  It will also be a lovely morning.

So hit us up in the Twin Cities, or listen in on Saturday!  We can't wait.

Wonderful! The song I heard tonight was so striking I sat in my car and waited for it to finish so I could hear who was performing. I second Anne, I would like to find a CD or iTunes recording. :)

I was so impressed of your vocal talents and the beautiful way you sang in Bulgarian (no Macedonian) language on the 1/25/2014 Prairie Show companion. The moment I heard your first song I got so excited, called immediately my daughter to turn on the radio and listen some Bulgarian music... and then I got a slap on the face when after being asked about the language you were singing, You said - Macedonian.
I praise your interest in Eastern European traditional music, but please do your homework. And just so you know - the regions of the geographic territories you were singing about have been a part of Bulgaria for centuries, and the people living there have always spoken Bulgarian language and considered themselves as Bulgarians. It's a tragic misfortune for Bulgaria that for political reasons the Great European Powers along with Russia, didn't allow Bulgaria to unite with its Macedonian region territories lost during the Ottoman Empire occupation ( they didn't have interest in strong Bulgaria .. the familiar divide and concur). This has been a bleeding wound for Bulgaria ever since. The so called "Macedonian' language has been artificially created in the 1940's to justify the official formation of the Macedonian republic as part of the Yugoslavia.( It sounds like a bad, illiterate dialect of Bulgarian to us Bulgarians. It has nothing to do with the pure Bulgarian you sang.) The people living there were forced to be pronounced as Macedonian, and there were oppressions for those who kept considering themselves as Bulgarians.

Please, continue doing what you do, and try to be informed, respectful and considerate to all nations in this region.

Bulgaria is a great country and deserves respect. It has given to all Slavic nations the Cyrillic alphabet, to allow translating the Holly Books to the old Bulgarian language, after Latin, Greek and Hebrew.

Thank you for your beautiful music.

Kind Regards,

Vessie Vassileva
